MAT offers a range of in-school activities and events, from 'off-the-shelf' workshops and assemblies on popular topics or themes, to bespoke sessions and programmes tailored to the specific needs of your school.

MAT can come to your school to deliver sessions. Alternatively, resources are available from this website so that teachers can deliver sessions themselves. See here for further information.

Examples include:

Maths in practice: archaeological survey shows how simple geometry is essential to archaeological  survey. A practical interactive session where pupils work in teams to collect measurements and draw-up their 'survey results'.
Science at work: bathymetric survey explains acoustic survey techniques with a hands-on activity that clarifies the principles and process of gathering seabed depth data.
Shipwreck Detective develops enquiry and investigation skills and an understanding of interpretation through focusing on a shipwreck site. Can include shipwreck case studies local to your school.
Our Maritime Bus could also visit your school. The Maritime Bus is a fantastic unique mobile outreach facility created thanks to generous funding by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The contents are an inspiring cocktail of the ancient and futuristic. Click here to read more about the Maritime Bus
